Walt Patterson founded this company in 2002 after having worked for Poole Fire Equipment Company for approximately 41 years.   Poole was a fixture here in Grass Valley since 1945, but in 2001 was sold and relocated to the Diamond Springs area.  We have been the only local fire equipment and service company since then.

Barry, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, has worked in emergency services since 1973, the last six of which was as a captain/paramedic in the fire department.  Connie and Barry relocated to Nevada City in 1999, and Barry went to work part-time for the Grass Valley Fire Department in the Fire Prevention Bureau.  It was in this capacity that he and Walt met.  In 2004 they became partners in the business, and Walt decided to retire in 2007.  Walt continues to take an interest in the growth and development of the company, and is still a terrific source for answers.

Greg Burke joined the company in 2008, after having served the City of Grass Valley as Fire Marshal for many years.  With their combined experience and expertise, you can be assured that your products and services will be the right ones for the job, and code compliant.   

Connie, Barry’s wife of 20 years, runs the office and is the one to talk to regarding accounts payable and receivable.

Although we do advertise in the Yellow Pages and on the Internet, the majority of our customer base comes from customer referrals.
